GeoSoftware Launches 2024.3 Release with Advanced AI, Enhanced Usability, and Faster Data Handling

September 1, 2024—Houston, Texas -- GeoSoftware™, the global trusted partner providing geoscience software and consulting services for enhanced subsurface knowledge, is pleased to announce the latest release of our industry-leading reservoir characterization software, HampsonRussell 2024.3 and Jason 2024.3.

GeoSoftware is thrilled to announce the newest software release, featuring a range of powerful new tools, enhancements, and performance improvements designed to elevate geophysical and reservoir characterization workflows. These updates are crafted to deliver increased accuracy, efficiency, and usability, providing geoscientists and engineers with even greater capabilities in their subsurface analysis and modeling.

HampsonRussell 2024.3 now offers greater efficiency with a new GeoAI convolutional neural network (CNN) classification workflow that eliminates the need for a synthetic wells catalog under sufficient well control conditions, speeding up analysis and enhancing flexibility. In addition, GeoAI now includes a statistics summary feature that provides an easy-to-read and quantifiable overview of network training and validation results.

Upgrades include speed improvements in chained processing and cross-plotting tools, accelerating the handling of large volumes, cutting processing time from minutes to seconds and saving valuable time. The automated multi-well correlation tool now supports multi-well check-shot corrections and bulk shift capabilities, significantly reducing manual effort and enabling more efficient multi-well to seismic ties.

Scientific color maps in HampsonRussell 2024.3 reduce visual distortion and provide clearer data gradients, making data variations easier to interpret. This feature is particularly beneficial for users with color vision deficiencies. Easier seismic tuning analysis and additions in Strata QC of inversion results reduce interpretation errors and provide more reliable geophysical insights. Enhancing user experience, all HampsonRussell Petrel plugin functionalities have been consolidated into the GeoSoftware Petrel plugin, ensuring a unified data transfer experience across GeoSoftware products.

Jason 2024.3 builds on its robust platform with new features that improve data handling, usability, and advanced analysis. A major update to the RockRank engine provides faster and more stable calculations, with the new functionality allowing calculations to continue from previously saved results, significantly improving workflow efficiency. Previously calculated criteria are immediately restored without the need to rerun calculations from the beginning.

Jason users can also benefit from a new "Compare Mode" in RockQC, which allows users to visualize common properties from multiple realizations—up to 12 at a time—in a single window. This feature allows for more efficient analysis and validation of geostatistical inversion results. Multiple ranked QC maps and geobodies can now be visualized in both RockRank and RockQC, providing a comprehensive view of the subsurface and enhancing decision-making processes.

The new SEG-Y Importer in Jason 2024.3 makes SEG-Y import simpler and more intuitive. With automatic detection of compatible surveys and XY locations, the survey mapping process has become easier and more streamlined. Users can now preview SEG-Y file geometry and mapped surveys before import, ensuring accuracy and reducing the chance of errors.

"We are committed to driving innovation that directly addresses the evolving needs of our customers. With this release, we have delivered significant advancements in data handling, automation, and usability. These improvements empower our users to maximize the value of their geophysical data with greater speed, precision, and confidence, helping them make more informed decisions that drive success."
